Vespéral - Nuits blanches - LP

Debut from this excellent new project from Québécois lands, with an excellent lineup featuring Nakkabre and Cauchemar from Conifére, Atrocité from Ossuaire and Sovannak, also from Ossuaire, Oppression, Putamen Insula, etc... Not too unlike the works of Oppression, Ossuaire and other Québécois compatriots, such as in Departure Chandelier, Vespéral plays excellent Punk-infused Black Metal. Albeit with less elements of Oi! music and stance of hooliganism, Vespéral delivers in a more melancholic manner. Still very martial however, Vespéral plays with more bucolicism and melancholy in their hearts, with themes focusing around loneliness and mental illness. The riffing work is ever excellent, brimming with Folk-y particularities and energetic chord progressions, which are very well enriched by the introspective and mystical synthesizers, while the rhythmic session perfectly paces these gelid hymns..
